About Center•Ed on Writing

Writing and editing is my happy place.

It always has been. Ever since I was a sophomore in high school, I knew writing would be my path forward. Whether I am writing someone’s stories, sharing moments of my own life, editing professional material or working with students to hone their skills — I love it all. Finding the rhythm and the flow of the words to bring the reader into the story is the best feeling in the world.

I started my writing journey in a journalism class at Duncanville High School, and I still remember the day my journalism teacher took me aside and told me I was a writer. She changed my life by validating what I loved to do. Since that day, my path hasn’t changed.

With more than 30 years experience teaching and coaching writing at both public high schools and the University Interscholastic League at the University of Texas, I am ready to help you.

We offer one-on-one coaching and writing bootcamps for classes — in person or virtual. We also offer practice and Invitational contest material for all five UIL journalism contest. All contest material is written by Jeanne and her colleague Rhonda Moore.
